The story behind the sketch:

At the time of the first lockdown

The song 'Cornwall - My Home' (a weekly anthem sung by many a voice in Cornwall on a Thursday evening after the 8pm clap for the NHS), inspired me to draw this beautiful landscape because of the symbolism it evokes on a very personal level. In one way or another, COVID19 has sent all of us on an unprecedented journey into unknown territory, where travel is measured in units of 'time' as opposed to 'distance'. It was therefore important that, from a personal perspective, 'The Coming Home Trees' offer comfort in the knowledge that no journey lasts forever and that familiar horizons are just around the corner, offering landmarks of hope for a safe return.
